It is rare to find full-size upright Steinway pianos in such great condition. These instruments are sometimes referred to as “upright-grands” because the string length and soundboard area offer the rich tone and formidable playing experience of grand pianos.
The model K-52 was first introduced in 1903 and is still manufactured by Steinway today. When you are after a great piano, yet have space restrictions, this can be the ultimate piano for you.
This instrument has been lovingly cared for over the years. The case has been refinished in a gorgeous mahogany satin finish. The hammers and damper felts have also been replaced. The strings have no corrosion and produce a vibrant, sustained tone. The soundboard crown offers a projecting sound unlike some older pianos that lose the vibrancy of the tone.
You also have the original organic key tops which are no longer available on pianos. This reveals the gentle history this piano has had since it’s so easy for them to get damaged or lost from neglect, or simply extremes in environment which can make them fall off.
If you are looking for a great upright Steinway at a fraction of the cost of new, you will treasure this classic piano for years to come.
