    Description

This Hazelton Brothers square grand piano was purchased at Cluett's in Albany, N. Y. in 1871. It is currently in Orchard Park, New York.  Acquired by the present owner in 1985,it was completely restored in 1986 by Stock's Piano Service in Brainard, N. Y., including a new set of strings, refinishing of the case (solid rosewood - no chips) and bridge, rehabilitation of the soundboard, replacement of worn ivory keys with a complete modern (plastic) set, regulation of the  hammers and installation of new felts, and re-pinning  and restoration of the entire scale.  This piano has a lovely, resonant sound in the treble and a solid base tone similar to a concert grand piano without taking up as much room.  It has been played rarely since being restored but has been re-tuned frequently since being re-built.  Its condition is as when it was restored.  It is a fine instrument as well as a beautiful piece of furniture and should bring the new owner many years of enjoyment.  Measures 80" wide by 40" deep by 38" high.
