PINK FLOYD Earl's Court London1980 Reproduction Concert Poster
This is a high quality lithograph reproduction concert poster for Pink Floyd's series of performances of The Wall at London's Earl's Court August 4th through the 9th, 1980. This was one of only four cities Pink Floyd performed worldwide supporting the album of their epic rock opera The Wall, which dealt with the themes of loneliness and failed communication, which were expressed on stage by a wall slowly being built during the show between the band and the audience. The New York Times stated: "The 'Wall' show remains a milestone in rock history. Never again will one be able to accept the technical clumsiness, distorted sound and meagre visuals of most arena rock concerts as inevitable" and concluded that "the 'Wall' show will be the touchstone against which all future rock spectacles must be measured." The Wall series of concerts were the final performances of the band with Roger Waters. A great poster for one of rock music's most successful and influential acts by British political cartoonist Gerald Scarfe, who animated the film and designed the album cover art. This reproduction measures approx. 13 x 19" and is in mint condition. FREE handbills included!
