    Description

A gorgeous first half of 19th century English porcelain small vase by Samuel Alcock. This beautiful vase features beautiful double leaf-shaped handles. Two hand painted panels back and front both with beautiful flower sprays. The vase depicts beautiful pastel tones, with warm white color shade ground the low relief rococo decoration in a cream colour the detail adorned with gold gilt.
It is in good antique condition overall. Some wear to gilt and decoration, occasional faint crazing and two chips on the top of the leaf handles. Some wear on the foot. Chips are not taking away from the overall look. It is a rare and elaborate rococo revival style piece that will add charm to any collection of antique European porcelain.
The vase is unmarked, but this shape is attributed to Samuel Alcock who was a leading pottery manufacturer that operated as Samuel Alcock & Co in Burslem, Staffordshire from 1828 to 1859. Despite short history, the factory is know for its quality work.
