Description
Up for sale a circa 1835 Robert Nunns & Clark 73 key Piano in unrestored, untuned condition. The inlay work for the logo is truly fine work. All but 1 key still works...if tuned you could probably play it.( it really needs to be restored).... IMO this piano needs and deserves to be restored, It would be a museum piece.. It is one of the oldest Piano's on Ebay and by historic...I mean there just aren't many and is a rare piece. It was purchased in the Washington DC area.
I used as a mainly as a decoration in an 1840 home..smaller more modern home now...time to move it on.
Piano is rosewood veneer and just a few small pieces are missing. 3 of the 4 legs have some damage at the bottom where an animal had it's way with them..damaged could be removed by craftsman and the small damaged areas refashioned. The lyre piece that holds the pedals is a reproduction fashioned by a woodworker as original was damaged.
It's a fairly good replica.
There is some info in the internet about the Robert Nunns and Clark..Piano Company...fairly interesting stuff..sqaurepianotech-dot-com has a good write up and a pic of just like this one that appears restored.
