    Description

Purchased at an estate sale in mid/late 1970s and restored by professional antique piano/organ restorer.  He tried to purchase it for his own piano at that time.  It has been in the same location on an interior home wall since he brought it back from his shop and set it up.  I heard him play ragtime on it the day he brought it back, and it was amazing.  It has been played little since; however, time has given it a some issues that need attention.  Here are the items I am aware of:
Needs tuning (very out of tune at present)
    Multiple white keys need repairs
Several keys are not working (making a sound), so some internals/hammers may need adjustment/repair
Left petal is not returning to position when depressed
    Cosmetic:
Some wood/case damage on left side near rear and right side near rear
    (happened prior to restoration)
One very small area missing a layer of wood on music rack (near middle, top right)
One or more legs may have some chips/damage (happened prior to restoration)
Old wear damage around right rear hinge
Some fading, a drink ring, and other speckles of discoloration on top - wood is still beautiful and smooth
Crack in wood above pedals (happened prior to restoration)
Additional photos on request.  We are happy to answer questions.  Piano was likely produced between 1880 and 1885, based on the "63428" number (see photo).  "1275" and "1375" are carved/burned in the wood on the side of the folding cover.  Appears to be Brazilian Rosewood.  Piano stool with wood and metal base included.  Note that the keys on an antique piano like this do not have the spring back action like keys on a modern keyboard; you control the key release with your fingers, and this does take some mastery.
Measures about 81-1/2” wide, 41-1/4" deep, 38” high. Carving on corner of each leg might extend out about 1” further.
