    WONDERFUL ANTIQUE IRONSTONE EWER OR PITCHER
    Large and dramatic antique white ironstone ewer or water pitcher measuring a whopping 13-1/4" tall. Featuring a graceful bulbous shape with wide pouring spout, it is decorated with a simple decorative treatment on the handle shoulder, similar to a thumb rest. Dating to around the 1890s, pitcher is marked SEMI-PORCELAIN E.P.P. CO. for East Palestine Pottery Company located in East Palestine, Ohio.
    Condition is wonderful with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs or damage - there is fine crazing to the glaze, a tiny flaw area in the handle as shown, and a dark spot on the interior of the handle where it attached to the pitcher from how the color was applied during production - interior is clean - no tanning or discoloration - very minor usage marks from age. Heavy, large and substantial, it is just a striking and dramatic piece - hard to find these E.P.P. pieces since their production time was so short - wonderful addition to any ironstone collection!
