    Description

    Vehicle Details
Gorgeous 1986 Jaguar XJS Coupe, V8 Conversion UNFINISHED PROJECT. Powered by a Chevy 305 with Quadrajet and 700R4 automatic transmission out of a 1984 Pontiac Parisienne Wagon with 89,000 miles. New timing chain, water pump and transmission filter. Car has spent 99% of its life garaged and has nearly zero rust. Pretty much needs to be gone through. The hard conversion work is already done, Still needs resistor soldered to tach to convert from 12 cylinders to 8 which is covered in the JTR kit manual supplied. Under-hood A/C components not included. They got lost. Most any Chevy system will work. It runs, drives, shifts and stops. Some of the WORK NEEDED includes some electrical and / or wiring repairs. The battery will go dead if left connected. Obviously there is a draw but I never checked which circuit. Also, the horn, gas gauge, brake lights, signal lights and blower motor are not working. Could be as simple as a fuse or more complicated. I never diagnosed. MOST EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS including headlights, parking lights, 4 way flashers, wipers, power windows, interior lights, radio/cassette, reverse lights, speedometer. The alternator is Chevy and charges the battery fine. The engine compartment was painted with POR-15 and top - coated Windsor Blue. The hardwired phone did work the last time the car was registered about 13 years ago. Car has a custom bent exhaust system - no cats. I'll throw in the Jag cats but I didn't want cats. Needs headliner. The car runs, drives, shifts fine and stops though the brakes do need some work. Car has a minor drip of oil or trans fluid. It sometimes stalls I believe due to a gas tank venting problem. The ride is jerky because the tires are 14 years old and dry rotted. Included with car is the conversion manual and the expensive Jaguar service manual. Have most service records since new. It has a Connecticut title. I never registered it. I throw on a plate in the summer and drive a little to keep brakes free. E brake inop - stuck cable? This car is a real head turner and looks like it is doing 100 MPH just sitting in the driveway. She is a beautiful, sexy enthusiast car for a low price. Compare to what you'd pay for a muscle car! You just need to finish up some odds and ends and it's a sharp, sweet ride! BEAUTIFUL CAR! Nice Summer project.Very solid and very straight! Needs a young and motivated owner to complete. Take her away. Car is in Connecticut near Foxwoods. A fraction of the cost of a muscle car and just as much a head-turner.
