    This is an 1850s Edward Walley early ironstone china covered sugar bowl with matching Chelsea Grapes pattern fancy lid.....
    EDWARD WALLEY IRONSTONE CHINA
    bold black underglaze print on bottom.....pink luster colored grapes in raised relief around the bowl and lid........8 sided sugar bowl and lid...ornate applied handles...5"tall (7 3/8"with lid)....applied cluster of grapes finial on top of original lid......both are in excellent shiny nice condition with only one chip on rim; no other damage to bowl or lid. Sparkling clean with no stains. We will be listing 2 or 3 other pieces from this same Chelsea Grapes set. A couple pieces from this same set were registry dated 1856, so I'm sure this covered sugar bowl was also made in the 1850s or early 1860s......
